Happy Fall Y’all!
Well Hello, Mommy! I absolutely love this time of year, especially after a scorching, humid summer here in the south. I say that, but it’s the end of October and just now starting to cool down.
I have never been one for haunted houses or scary movies, but I am all about a good pumpkin patch and corn maze! It was so exciting to take Malia on her first fall adventure this year. So, we headed over to Denver Downs Farm in Anderson, SC.
Denver Downs Farm is a great little gem that we found when we moved to upstate SC last year. They have so many activities that are fun for the whole family. They are best known for their corn maze, pumpkin patch, and haunted attractions during the fall, but also host a number of other events throughout the year. (We viewed the total solar eclipse here in August!) So, if you are near Anderson, definitely consider checking them out!
This was our first outing with our new camera, and let me just say, we are in LOVE! It’s amazing having photos of such better quality than iPhone pictures. So get ready for an overload of snaps of our little pumpkin at the patch!
Mommy and Me outfits for the win! (both my shirt and her striped onesie are from Old Navy) Shout out to that awkward hand
Glad you could join us again awkward hand…
This girl loooooves her daddy!
We had been dog-sitting for my parents, and timing was perfect for my mom to join us at the farm when she came to pick the dog up (both mine and Josh’s families live about 4 hours away). Malia was so glad Grammy was in town to jump in on the fun!
She has started doing the most adorable little nose scrunch, and it melts me every time!
She is also obsessed with being upside down these days.
Those chubby fingers… I mean does it get any better than this?
All this fall fun can really wear a girl…
…out.
The hayride at sunset was the perfect activity while little bit napped. And it had some gorgeous views!
It was dark by the time we made it to the corn maze. But we just made ourselves get really lost on purpose, and then figured our way out. We probably really confused people who were trying to hit all the checkpoints correctly.
Aaaaand cue outfit change because she peed all over the other one while I was changing her diaper.
We finished the evening sitting next to one of the fire pits and listening to the live band of the evening, Dirty Grass Soul. (They were AMAZING by the way).
Denver Downs has several areas for concessions, and in the evenings, sell kits for s’mores that include all the fixin’s (graham cracker, chocolate, marshmallow) and a stick for roasting!
Malia’s first trip to the pumpkin patch was everything I had hoped it would be and more. It makes my heart so happy to see her experience things for the first time, and to share our traditions and favorite things with her!
**As mentioned before, both my shirt and Malia’s onesie are from Old Navy. Her moccasins are from Cracker Barrel, and her bow is from Little Poppy Co.
